Wake Up Calls: open June 3rd
The Police Division is implementing some new parade route traffic and safety adjustments, placing non-movable barricades or City vehicles at the streets intersecting Northwest Boulevard. As a result, local traffic will not be able to cross or use Northwest per the following schedule:
· 6:30-7 am – all streets between Zollinger Road and Lane Avenue will be closed at Northwest Boulevard.
· 7-7:30 am – most streets between Lane Avenue and North Star Road will be closed at Northwest Boulevard. It will still be possible to cross Northwest at Guilford, Barrington and Waltham roads until approximately 8 am.
· Travel on Northwest Boulevard will be limited after 7:30 am.
· Lane Avenue will remain open to traffic until approximately 8:30 am.
· Parade begins around 9:00 am.
· All streets are expected to be reopened to traffic by approximately 1 pm.
Golf Cart Policy: A summary of the Police Division’s planned approach to golf cart enforcement moving forward:
- Licensed and inspected golf carts are always legal on UA streets, consistent with City Code.
- Golf carts or any other under speed vehicles are not allowed on paths in public parks or on park fields.
Families and organizations that choose to rent non-street legal golf carts over the Fourth of July holiday period should be aware that any non-street legal golf cart is subject to being stopped, impounded and the driver ticketed if it is being driven on an open public road. This excludes the use of golf carts in the Fourth of July Parade and on any streets that are closed for a block party.
